Monday, June 11th, 1962: His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Ken McMullen was rewarded with the Sub League 2 Player of the Week honors.
The scrappy Birmingham Eclipse left fielder hit .393 while collecting 11 hits in 28 at-bats, 3 home runs and 6 RBIs.
This season McMullen has hit at a .282 clip and produced 25 RBI, 7 home runs and 28 runs. |
 | McGuire's Strong Week Earns SL1 Trophy
Monday, June 11th, 1962: It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Sub League 1, but last week Mickey McGuire of the Lincoln Surveyors reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. McGuire rocked opposing pitching for a .471 average (8-17), 2 home runs and 4 RBIs to come away with the award.
For the year McGuire is hitting .244 with 6 home runs. His stats include 21 RBI and 23 runs scored. |

Monday, June 4th, 1962: So far in his young career, Dean Look has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Sub League 2 in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.
The 24-year-old St. Louis Renegades left fielder hit at a torrid .545 clip as he collected 12 hits in 22 at-bats, 1 home run, 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
For the year Look has hit .302 with 1 home run, 20 RBIs and scored 14 runs.
