Monday, October 5th, 1959: This season the elite pitcher in the Sub League 2 was a reliever.
Jim Proctor, the Cane Savannah bullpen artist, has been honored as the 1959 Outstanding Pitcher Award winner.
For the year he piled up 6 saves in 10 save opportunities. He appeared in 17 games and compiled a 1-4 mark with an impressive 7.85 ERA. |

Monday, October 5th, 1959: Evans Killeen of the Orlando Huns had a tremendous season in 1959 and today was named the winner of the league's Outstanding Pitcher Award -- quite an accomplishment for a relief specialist!
He compiled a 3.35 ERA, a 7-5 record and 4 saves. Killeen made 34 relief appearances, tossed 53.2 innings and totaled 26 strikeouts. |
