Friday, September 25th, 1959: Milt Bolling of the Minneapolis Guides had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Outstanding Hitter Award for 1959.
The 29-year-old shortstop put up a .315 average and a .481 on-base percentage, piling up 63 hits, 11 doubles, 1 triple, 7 home runs, 23 RBIs and 37 runs scored.

 | Toledo's Wills Gets Outstanding Pitcher Award
Thursday, September 24th, 1959: As improbable as it might seem, a reliever can win the Outstanding Pitcher Award, HBC Rookie League's top pitching honor. Ted Wills proved it today as the Toledo bullpen ace earned the Sub League 2 award after a remarkable season.
He posted an ERA of 0.60 with no wins, 1 loss, and 9 saves in 15 relief appearances. Over 15 innings he struck out 21, allowed 4 walks and held opposing hitters to a .118 batting average.
